Description of Multiple VCR Control Software
This solution consists of a graphical software package, which interfaces with hardware devices, VCRs. The program was written to control six VCRs which allows any or all of the decks to be placed into two common control groups for synchronized operation. Is great for live events, Presentations, Video Walls and Video Broadcasting. This implementation saves a considerable amount of time for facilities that operate multiple VCR.

This option consist in an external box wired to the USB port, and converts the USB output into four RS232 output, generally a computer comes with 2 com ports Com1 and Com2 then you can add four more in order to have six outputs for controlling VCRs

How to use the software
Configuration Options
When press "Options..." button in the main screen the following window will appear.
- VCR 1 to 6: Set com port number where the VCRs are connected to
- Group 1 and 2 Master Time Code: Select the VCR where the Master Time Code for the Group will be taken from
- Time Code Type: LTC Time - VITC Time - CTL Timer1 - CTL Timer2 - LTC UB - VITC UB
- Base frames: 30 for NTSC - 25 for PAL
- Press save Config to start using the program
Operataion
Functions:
In Group: wil do any of the following commands using all VCRs located in the common control group, like operating individaully but sinchronized.
Play - Stop - Fwd - Rew - Rec - Preroll - Mark - Shuttle - Cue
Mark:
When Mark button is pressed the current Time Code for the VCR will be Stored for future Cue Up if Mark is pressed from Group control all VCR in that group will Store their respective current position TC and Master Time code will be take for the group.
Cue:
Will Cue up to the last mark or to any typed TimeCode, If from Group All VCRs in that group will cue up to their respective cue points.
Cue all to TC:
Will Cue Up all VCRs in the group to the group's Time Code, this function can be used for synchronization to any point to palyback later.
Quick Rew:
Rewind the VCR, the indicated ammount of seconds from it's current position, if in group, the amount of seconds can be set in the text box located above each "Quick Rew" button.
